Today is the cover reveal for Episode One: Of Men, Who Were Also Monsters, the debut release from Lee E.E. Stone that will be available in all eBook formats on Friday, March 12th from Seventh Star Press! The release is the first in an imaginative new series released in episodes that blends the urban fantasy, paranormal, and horror genres, Alex J. Hunter vs. The Devil Lords of the Ember Crown!

Synopsis of Episode One: Of Men, Who Were Also Monsters: The fate of Appalachia lay in the hands of Alex Judge Hunter, a Vietnam veteran, occasional bounty hunter, and father cursed with seeing the dead and those hidden from human awareness. Alongside his daughter, Sammy, whose own destiny will take her beyond the realms, and Alex’s drug-addled Ex-Brother in-law with dark secrets and a bleak future of his own, Jerry Barber, the trio will team up with Zizo, a proud and intelligent leader of an ancient order of guardians, to put a stop to a malicious entity determined to raise some literal hell.

These four will journey across a dark and weird version of West Virginia, circa 1978, brimming with creatures new and old from folklore, myths, and legends. With a bit of luck and each other’s backs, they hope to stop the mysterious Ember Crown order from achieving their goal of raising a long-dead power from the beyond, endangering the realms of humankind, Faye-kind, and the dead.

Every adventure begins with the first step, and this will be theirs… Welcome to the world of New Weird Mythology.

About Lee E. E. Stone:

Lee Eguia Elam Stone considers himself a homebrew guide of the strange, off-panel places of stories; a sort of Willy Wonka of the unmundane, as well as what lies beyond the blinding nature of light, and deep within the well of darkness that is the human mind.

Lee’s first published short story was “THE PAINTED UNIVERSE”, a literal/metaphorical tale of one man’s tragic loss, and his eventual fight against the grief that thrives on his depression. “THE PAINTED UNIVERSE” can be found in the experimental anthology, “BETWEEN THE LINES”, edited by Bram Stoker Award Winning Editor and Author, Michael Knost, writer and teacher of many bright and imaginative creators. Lee is currently working on his first trilogy of serialized digital novellas coming out under the guidance of Seventh Star Press, beginning in 2021, titled: ALEX J. HUNTER Vs THE DEVIL LORDS OF THE EMBER CROWN.

Lee is an author of micro, short, and novella length tales, with an emphasis on serialized novellas. He also dabbles in surreal and weird dark poetry. His writing wastes little time with fluff, yet still offers up enough meat to (he hopes) get you to come back for more. He offers the reader with little time, a wealth of story served up in small, time conscious, packages. He likens himself to a chef of the genre equivalent of baby back ribs; messy, but of so yummy!

He is always willing to hear and learn about everyone’s path to storytelling, because in the end, we’re all books, and he truly believes that all forms of art help us survive and become stronger through our battles with depression and anxiety.

So Say We All.
